Here's A Simple Recipe For Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, A Classic Italian dish

Ingredients:

  • 225 grams of spaghetti
  • 4 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley

Instructions:

  • Cook the spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (usually around 8-10 minutes). Drain the cooked spaghetti, reserving about 1/2 cup of the cooking water.
  • Sauté the garlic: While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic turns golden brown and becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Combine spaghetti and garlic oil: Add the cooked and drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss the spaghetti well, ensuring it gets coated evenly with the oil. If the mixture seems dry, you can add a few tablespoons of the reserved pasta cooking water to loosen it up. Stir and toss for a minute or two until everything is well combined and heated through.
  • Season and serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Season the spaghetti aglio e olio with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. You can also add some grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley for extra flavor and garnish. Toss everything together once more.
  • Serve immediately: Transfer the spaghetti aglio e olio to serving plates or bowls. It's best enjoyed right away while it's still hot.

That's it! You now have a delicious plate of spaghetti aglio e olio. Enjoy your meal!
